Devon Chaney President
Hello! My name is Devon Chaney and I am very excited to be President of TBP this year. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you all. I am a fourth year aerospace engineering student and I use he/him/his pronouns.
I am from Montara, just south of San Francisco. Outside of class I enjoy swimming, working out and reading. Most of my reading is on 18th and 19th century history though I am trying to get into some fantasy. I am also an avid enjoyer of Formula 1 and baseball. And of course, as an aerospace engineer, I really love all things space.
Lindsay Loventhal Vice President
Hey my name is Lindsay Loventhal (she/her) and I am your Vice President of TBP for this year. I am a fourth-year mechanical engineering student with an emphasis in bioengineering. I was born and raised in San Jose, CA. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my friends, going to the gym, spending time outdoors especially at the beach, and last but certainly not least baking.
I joined Tau Beta Pi last year and it has been a great place to meet and interact with different fields of engineering as well as my own as I have found a lot of value talking to peers who have more similar interests and experiences as me.

Amy Jiang Corresponding Secretary
Hi :) I'm Amy Jiang (she/her), and I'm a fourth-year mechanical engineering major. I'm originally from Canada, but grew up in the Bay Area.
When I'm not studying, I enjoy fiber arts and Pilates.
I am almost always wearing heels, so if you hear someone click-clacking around campus, it's probably me 🙃. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone—please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, and come say hi if you see (or hear) me around campus!
Marivel Alfaro Recording Secretary
Hi peeps! My name is Marivel (she/her), and I'm a fourth-year ME Bio major and Leadership Studies minor. I've worked at the Multiscale Modeling of Materials Lab since I transferred to SDSU in Fall 2024. Outside academics, I enjoy listening to music, playing World of Warcraft, stand-up comedy, and volunteering.
Fun fact: I just got some tropical fish, but I struggle to keep plants alive, so please wish them luck.

Wren Iswandhi Historian
Hi, I'm Wren Iswandhi and my pronouns are they/them. I'm a third year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Math, and I'm from the Bay Area. I joined TBP in Spring 2026 and am looking forward to being more involved! This year, I am also working as a tutor for the Residential Education Office and a Pride House Mentor for the SDSU Pride Center. I'm also the Vice President for Alpha Omega Epsilon, a professional/academic/social sorority for women in STEM.
I'm on a mission to conquer as many forms of art as possible, so feel free to ask me about anything creative! Some favorites include film photography, woodburning, and digital scrapbooks. My main focus is sewing and embroidering clothing, either for myself or for theatre productions. At SDSU, I've costume designed for 3 student shows, and I hope to stay involved in technical theatre for the rest of my life.
I'm looking forward to a great year, and I'm excited to get to know everyone!
Maegan Biederman Announcement Coordinator
Hello, my name is Maegan Biederman (She/Her)! I'm a 4th year Electrical Engineering major with a minor in Mathematics, born & raised in San Diego.
Some of my hobbies include drawing (both digitally and traditionally), composing music, and writing stories. I also enjoy hiking, learning mycology, foraging, and playing video games&emdash;mainly Vintage Story, Look Outside, and Slay The Spire 2 as of writing this :].
I've also started work on a few creative projects with friends, including work as a sound designer and composer for a sci-fi podcast called "The Logs of Eden"!
I was initiated into Tau Beta Pi in the Fall 2025 semester and have had nothing but wonderful experiences! My favorite events so far have been the Engineering BBQs and the Billiards & Ping Pong events.
I'm also a member of SHPE and SDSU's TTRPG club, and frequent the BuildIt center.
I'm excited to meet all of you throughout the Fall 2026 semester!
Hector Oropeza Master Of Inventory
Hey everyone, my name is Hector Oropeza (he/him) and I am a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Leadership Studies. I'm also involved in undergraduate research at the SMILE Lab under Dr. Junfei Xie.
Outside of school, I'm always listening to music (recommendations are always welcome) and have recently started getting into hiking and surfing. I'm also into video games, hanging out with friends, watching anime, and reading manga.
I was initiated into Tau Beta Pi Spring 2025, and I decided to become an officer to better my leadership skills and become more involved with Tau Beta Pi. I'm excited to meet all of you guys and hope to see you guys at the events! If you see me around campus, feel free to say hi.
Chloe Chambers Candidate Coordinator
Hey! My name is Chloe Chambers, and I'm a third-year Mechanical Engineering student. I grew up here in San Diego, so I've always loved being near the beach. Some of my favorite things to do are boogie boarding and body surfing, especially when I get the chance to spend the day at the beach with friends. Outside of that, I enjoy drawing, collecting Pokémon cards (my favorites are Bulbasaur and Gengar), and playing video games. Some of my favorites right now are DBD, Brawlhalla, and the Resident Evil games.
I was initiated into TBP in Spring 2026, and I've enjoyed getting to know everyone. One of my favorite events so far was definitely the beach day trip. It was fun spending time with everyone and exploring a beach I had never been to before.
I'm also involved in MESA, an academic and career-building program, as well as Mechatronics, a student-run club where we work on building an autonomous underwater sub.
I'm really excited to meet all of the new candidates this semester and hopefully be someone you can feel comfortable coming up to and talking to. I'm looking forward to making some great memories.
Joshua Martin-Spencer Candidate Coordinator
Hello! My name is Joshua Martin-Spencer (he/him) and I am a 3rd year mechanical engineering major. I was born and raised in the Bay and moved to San Diego 10 years ago. I love playing pick-up basketball, reading books, and solving puzzles. I am currently working on extreme temperature solid state battery materials research under Dr. Santosh Kc and with Elevate Semiconductors as a quality intern.
Tau Beta Pi is an awesome organization to meet some like-minded, high achieving engineers. Looking forward to a fantastic year!
Evan Scott Member Coordinator
Hello, my name is Evan Scott, and I am from right here in San Diego, California. I enjoy skiing, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and I love the beach.
I was initiated into Tau Beta Pi in the fall of 2025, and the thing I enjoy most about TBP is the amazing community. Besides TBP I am also involved with ASME as well as research in the AMED Lab here at SDSU. I am currently pursuing a BS/MS 4+1 Degree program for Mechanical Engineering.

Hello, I'm Matteo Faucheux (He/Him), and I'm a Senior Aerospace Engineer. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA, and have been with Tau Beta Pi since Fall 2025.
In my free time, I like to hang out with people and play Tabletop games, and when I can, I also like to play RTS video games.
You can also find me in SDSU's Rocket Project. I am excited to meet you all for another great semester.

Hey everyone! My name is Oliver Novak, and I'm excited to be serving as an officer this year. I'm a third-year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Business Administration from Palo Alto, and I was initiated into Tau Beta Pi in Fall 2025.
