Community Service Opportunities
In order to become a member, one of the requirements is community service. We do not require you to do your community service at a Tau Beta Pi event. You can perform community service anywhere!
Below are some community service opportunities in our area that you can attend. This is just a list of events and organizations that we have heard about from the community and have shared with you, if you find something else that is not part of this list that is completely ok!

San Diego Food Bank
Manning their food bank. Cleaning and packaging produce, sorting, assembling packages. Various days and times for shifts, requires sign-up ahead of time.

I Love a Clean San Diego
Beach cleanups and storm drain cleanups and stenciling. See their calendar.

Friends of Cats
Volunteer at an Animal Shelter. Sometimes you’ll get to spend time and socialize with the animals, or do other activities like cleaning, helping with light repairs/maintenance, etc.

Challenged Athlete Foundation
Hosts sports clinics for youth/children. You can volunteer to be a general volunteer to help out at their events.

Sharia's Closet
Sharia's Clothes Closet provides free, gently-used emergency clothing to individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship or crisis. Volunteers help package clothing to deliver to recipients.
Volunteers are needed on Monday to Fridays 12:30 PM to 5 PM, and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

Urban Angels
Food Service volunteer opportunity. Two locations, both downtown. One is everyday from 5:30 pm to 7pm. The other is on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7pm.
