Subject: [psw_sec] ASEE PSW Conference- Abstract deadline reminder (Dec 1st)
To: "psw_sec at asee.org" <psw_sec at asee.org>
Dear colleagues,
The American Society for Engineering Education Pacific Southwest (ASEE PSW)
Section invites abstracts (full paper, work-in-progress or WIP, workshop,
and poster) for the 2017 Annual Conference and Exposition. The conference
is hosted by Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona *on April 20-22,
2017* with the theme of *“Teaching and motivating millennial engineering
students”*.
Please consider submitting on topics relevant to engineering education
including, but not limited to, laboratories and projects, courses and
curricula, experiential and global learning in engineering, pedagogy and
assessment, and reports on student research and design. Online teaching,
active learning and industry partnerships are of particular interest.
Instructions and templates for abstract and full paper submission can be
found on the conference website: http://2017asee-psw.org. Authors can make
two types of submission: full paper and abstract for
poster/workshop/work-in-progress. *The deadline for abstract submission is
December 1, 2016*.
*Full Papers: (Submitted through ASEE Monolith)*
Submission for a full paper is a three-step review process consisting of an
abstract review followed by, if favorable, a draft paper review, and then a
full manuscript review. Abstracts will each receive one blind review;
papers will be blind reviewed by a minimum three reviewers. Acceptance of
both the abstract and the final full manuscript is required for
presentation in conference sessions and for inclusion in the conference
proceedings (publish to present). Abstracts shall be 250-500 words in
length. Authors are encouraged to consult the Author’s Kit before
submitting (http://www.2017asee-psw.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/
PSW_Authors_Kit.pdf).
*Poster, Workshop, and Work-in-Progress (WIP):*
Authors can submit a 250-500 word abstract in electronic form (.doc, .docx
or .pdf) using the template provided on http://www.2017asee-psw.org/
submissions. Abstracts should clearly indicate whether it is for a poster,
work-in-progress, or workshop. An accepted work-in-progress will be
assigned to a poster session and will require an extended abstract (3 page
limit) in place of a full paper.
The file name for poster/workshop/WIP abstract must use the following
convention:
1. For poster: LastNameFirstInitial_Paper (e.g., SmithJ_poster).
2. For work-in-progress: LastNameFirstInitial_Poster (e.g., SmithJ_wip).
3. For workshop: LastNameFirstInitial_Poster (e.g., SmithJ_workshop).
If submitting more than one abstract, number the file name as follows:
SmithJ_poster1, SmithJ_poster2, etc.
We hope you can join us next year in Arizona!
