[Faculty] Fwd: Thank you again for the meeting

To CoE Faculty,

I would like to arrange for Dr. Steve Russell, SPAWAR Chief Technology
Officer and CAPT Kurt Rothenhaus, the Commanding Officer of SPAWAR Systems
Center Pacific to come for a visit sometime soon. Apparently, Steve leads
the SPAWAR research departments. Please let me and your Department Chairs
know, if you are currently collaborating with SPAWAR on specific projects,
or would like to start new collaborations.  We will arrange the meeting so
all interested faculty have a chance to present their research briefly and
show off their labs.

Thank you. I look forward to coming over to the campus sometime to see some
of the great research your students are doing.  If his schedule supports,
Dr. Steve Russell the SPAWAR Chief Technology Officer would be a great
addition to the visit. Steve is a Special Executive Service (SES) member
and leads our research department as well and serves on many academic
boards.

It was a pleasure meeting you and I look forward to seeing you at the
Engineering Board meeting on May 9th.

As I mentioned, many of our faculty enjoy collaborating with high caliber
SPAWAR scientists and our graduate students who are helping these
scientists are having the time of their lives with the kind of projects
they get to work on. On the day we had lunch, there were 8 scientists who
were visiting our MEMS lab.


I look forward to expanding such collaborations between SPAWAR and SDSU
even further.
