Dear Asfaw and Ashkan,
I understand that the scope of the revision assigned to the Constitution
and Bylaws Committee was very limited. They did what best they could within
the limited scope.
As one of the authors of the Assigned Time Policy in 2015, I know that it
has NOT worked well in terms of encouraging research. Although I am not
personally impacted by it, I strongly feel that it should be extensively
revised so that it encourages the faculty to be research active rather than
punishing with unreasonably higher teaching load.
I suggest we listen to those who are actually teaching courses.
Regards,
Sunil Kumar
ECE Department
