Dear Colleagues,
You are invited to attend the Big Ideas Forum on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 from
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Storm Hall 11. This town hall style meeting will
feature a presentation from Dr. Dan Perry, Director of the Big Ideas
Initiative at Texas State University, followed by a Q & A session. The
event is open to faculty, staff, students and community members, so please

Dr. Dan Perry currently serves as Assistant Vice President, University
Advancement at Texas State University. In this role, he manages the Alumni
Relations and Development departments and leads campaign planning. In
preparation for the public launch of a fundraising campaign, Dr. Perry
partnered with the Provost, Chief Research Officer, and Vice President for
University Advancement to lead a Big Ideas initiative at Texas State to
align campaign fundraising with academic and research priorities. He holds
a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California at Davis, a M.A. in
International Relations from the University of Denver, and a Ph.D. in
Education from Texas State University.
Immediately after the Forum, we will host six Big Ideas
workshop/discussions for interested individuals to gather and discuss broad
themes in small groups. Conference rooms in nearby buildings have been
reserved from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Sandwiches, chips and drinks will be
provided. Please visit the website for workshop topics and registration.
