Dear SDSU Community,

All members of the university community are invited to submit nominations
for the annual Senate Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2022-23 academic
year. Completed nomination materials must be submitted to the Dean of the
nominee’s college by Friday, March 24.

One distinguished SDSU faculty member will be honored and receive the title
of “Senate Distinguished Professor”. Qualified nominees may be tenured,
tenure-track (probationary) or Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP). The
Senate Distinguished Professor is recognized for contributions made to
students, the faculty member’s respective academic discipline, and campus
communities. Criteria for nominations can be viewed on the University
Senate webpage

Requirements:

   - Each nominee choosing to move their nomination forward must submit
   his/her/their materials to their college Dean by Friday, March 24.
   - Each college will forward one nominee to William Welsh, Chair of the
   Senate Faculty Honors and Awards Committee, by emailing wwelsh at sdsu.edu
   <wwelsh at sdsu.edu?subject=> with a cc to the Senate Office, at
   senate at sdsu.edu <senate at sdsu.edu?subject=>, by Friday, March 31.
   - Application materials must be presented in one PDF document:
      - A nominating letter from the dean’s office (2 page limit)
      - A candidate dossier with examples of their achievements (5 page
      limit)
      - Up to three letters of support (2 page limit each)
      - The full CV of the candidate

All college nominees will be honored at an awards ceremony, but only one
individual will receive the title Senate Distinguished Professor and
present a public lecture as part of the ceremony. This individual will also
receive a cash award.
