Dear CoE Executive Committee Members and CoE Staff,
I am sharing the information provided below as I believe it is important
information to have in the event any of our students inquire or present
such needs. I have also posted the flyer in the CoE Homeroom for all
engineering students.
I will leave it up to the Dept. Chairs to share with faculty.
Respectfully,
Theresa M. Garcia

Please see email and attachment from Keiara Allen, ECRT Housing Stability
Coordinator:
Greetings,
My name is Keiara Allen and I am the ECRT Housing Stability Coordinator at
SDSU. This past year ECRT has launched a Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) program
that aims to secure housing for homeless/housing insecure students by
providing housing location, rental assistance, and wrap around case
management services.
Who may be eligible:
-
SDSU students enrolled at least half-time (6 or more units) AND
-
Students that are homeless (living in cars, shelters, living in
motels/hotels, couch-surfing. or on the streets)
-
OR Students at risk of homelessness (Residence will be lost within 14
days)
-
OR Students in unsafe living situations as with the instances of
Domestic Violence or Abuse
We’re reaching out to you to help spread the word about this program to our
students. Attached is a flyer that provides more information about the
program. Feel free to distribute to students, staff, and faculty as you see
necessary.
I would love to meet briefly with your department/group to provide more
details about the Rapid Re-Housing program. In about 10 minutes, I can
provide more context to the above, answer questions, and discuss
alternative housing options for homeless students. If you’re interested in
a short presentation, please email kallen3 at sdsu.edu.
Thank you for taking the time,
Keiara Allen
