[Staff] call for first round of nominations

I am putting together staff nominations from the College of Engineering,
for possible consideration by Nancy Marlin (provost), to serve on the
5-year evaluation of David Hayhurst as dean. All of the academic
administrators are reviewed every five  years, so this is a normal cycle
for David.

Via this first communication, I would like to have any names put forward
for those who might be considered for the review panel  (self-nominations
are acceptable).

A few things to consider.
1) this happens every five years
2) you get to vote on those nominated (if more than 4)
3) top four staff names after that vote will be sent forward (assuming more
than four names are put forward)
4) of those sent forward, Nancy Marlin will select one for the committee
5) panel doing the evaluation will meet over the next school year.

Since there are 29 on our staff, but not all are permanent staff, not all
are full-time,and some have been here less than five years, my guess is
that we probably have about a dozen that would qualify for this panel. I
feel to do justice on the review we should rely on full-time permanent
staff that have been in position for five years.

There are similar down select processes moving forward in the faculty,
student, and outside the College ranks too.

To initiate the cycle, please send me any nominations from the staff and if
there are several we will have a follow on vote for top four.

I would like to get this together this week if possible.
