The sponsor has three rounds of submissions, all of which are 
required.  Initial applications are due January 22, 2010.  The second 
round will open on February 3 and close on February 15, 2010.  The 
final round, which is by invitation only, will open on March 22, and

OBJECTIVES:  The aim of the Game Changers category is the 
creation of new game play experiences using the popular video games 
LittleBigPlanet�, winner of numerous "Game of the Year" awards in 
2008, and Spore� Galactic Adventures. Sony Computer Entertainment of 
America (SCEA) and Electronic Arts (EA), in cooperation with 
Entertainment Software Assocation and Information Technology Industry 
Council, will team with MacArthur to support this component of the 
Competition. Sony Computer Entertainment of America will donate 
PlayStation�3 (PS3�) consoles and copies of LittleBigPlanet� and 
Electronic Arts copies of Spore� and the expansion pack Galactic 
Adventures to community-based organizations and libraries in 
low-income communities. In addition to making the winning levels and 
adventures available to the game playing community at no cost, SCEA 
and Electronic Arts will also specially highlight the winners within 
the games� communities and their respective websites. 

ELIGIBILITY 
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age when the 
application is submitted; however, personnel working on the project 
may include students and others under the age of 18 as long as they 
are working under the supervision of the primary applicant.  Primary 
applicants from outside the U.S. must apply as institutions or 
organizations, not as individuals. Legal U.S. residents whose 
principal place of residence is in the U.S. are eligible to apply as 
individuals.  Only English-language applications will be accepted. 
Primary applicants are not eligible to submit more than one 
application (though they may act as primary applicant on one 
application and as a collaborator on another 
application).  Submitted projects must directly relate to the 
commercial products Spore and LittleBigPlanet. 

FUNDING 
The sponsor provides awards ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 as 
development grants.  The sponsor provides awards in the following
