[Faculty] OneDrive for Business issues

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As your OneIT Leader I wanted to provide an update on a technology change
that impacts OneDrive and impacted some of our faculty and staff. This
change was made in response to a single faculty member request. We, as
your IT support for the college, mistakenly made an error and applied a
Configuration Profile to all the devices in the College of Engineering.
After this Configuration Profile was applied, it came to our attention that
the user’s hard drive was being filled up, and in turn causing the computer
to run very slow or even unresponsive. In retrospect we should have just
made the change to the single faculty member and not applied it to all of
the devices in the College of Engineering.

At the moment we have removed this Configuration Profile to all the devices
in the College of Engineering. Note: Not all of the College of Engineering
devices have completely synchronized with the Configuration profile; only
about 194 devices successfully took the Configurations Profile. We are
still in the process of investigating the 194 affected devices and have a
temporary manual resolution to revert back to the default setting if your
device's hard drive runs out of storage space. You do not need to take any
action if you do not notice any dramatic change to your hard drive storage
space and your device's performance. We are looking into a solution via our
management system that can be applied to all affected devices automatically.

If you are having issues with OneDrive for Business, please contact one of
the College of Engineering IT for support.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns about this issue.

Thank you,

William Nguyen
