Just a reminder that the JDP Faculty Orientation is this Friday:

Also, below you will see the JDP admission process timeline. We will review
it in detail at the orientation meeting, but if you cannot attend, I am
always available to answer any questions you may have.
1. Applicant submits graduate application via Cal State Apply (
calstate.edu/apply/graduate) between 10/1/20 and 12/15/20.
2. Applicant submits official transcripts and GRE test scores via Cal
State Apply and curriculum vitae/resume, statement of purpose,
and three letters of recommendations to SDSU via Interfolio (
apply.interfolio.com/77598) no later than 1/15/21.
3. Applicant must secure an SDSU adviser and have have that adviser
confirm with Donovan Geiger no later than 1/15/21. The adviser can be from
any SDSU department.
4. The SDSU adviser must secure a UCSD co-adviser. The co-adviser must be
from (or hold a dual/adjunct appointment with) the UCSD department the
applicant is applying to.
5. SDSU Engineering JDP Steering Committee will review complete
applications and make recommendations regarding admissions.
6. If the applicant is recommended for admission, they are instructed to
apply to UCSD via (grad.ucsd.edu/admissions) between 1/20/21 and 2/17/21.
7. The applicant’s supplemental documents (GRE test scores, curriculum
vitae, statement of purpose, and three letters of recommendation) are
uploaded to UCSD for review.
8. UCSD department reviews application and informs SDSU JDP coordinator of
the decision. If positive, UCSD department chair signs JDP1 and applicant
proceeds.
9. SDSU Engineering officially recommends applicant and sends JDP1 to SDSU
Grad Division for review. If approved, SDSU Grad Division sends JDP1 to
UCSD Grad Division.
10. UCSD Grad Division reviews the applicant. If approved, offer of
admission is sent to the applicant.
11. SDSU then sends offer of admission to the applicant.
12. If the applicant accepts offers from both SDSU and UCSD, the admission
process is complete.
13. International applicants will coordinate with SDSU International
Student Center to secure a visa.
