Dear Colleagues,


The College of Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU) is
currently searching for the position of Associate Dean for Graduate Studies
and Research to begin in August 2020. The Associate Dean will work in a
collaborative and transparent fashion across the college to engage and
unite the faculty, staff, and students around a clear and compelling vision
for the future with a commitment to graduate studies and research
excellence that is consistent with the University’s goal to be a top 50
urban research university.

The SDSU College of Engineering is the fastest growing College at SDSU. The
College of Engineering offers B.S. degrees in seven programs through its
four departments (Aerospace Engineering, Civil, Construction and
Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and
Mechanical Engineering), M.S. degrees in six programs (Aerospace, Bio-,
Civil, Environmental, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering), a Master of
Engineering degree in collaboration with the College of Business
Administration, as well as Ph.D. degrees in four engineering science areas
(Mechanical and Aerospace, Bio-, Electrical and Computer, and Structural
Engineering) jointly with the University of California, San Diego.

Only applicants who have earned a doctorate in engineering or a closely
related field that would qualify them for an appointment in one of the
College's academic departments will be considered. Experience in university
administration is preferred.  Interested applicants should provide a 1)
cover letter that details research and administrative experience, 2)
curriculum vitae, 3) statement that details the applicants vision for
achieving R1 status, Mission Valley opportunities, and the development of
the College in terms of graduate studies and research, and 4) list of
