Dear SDSU Community,

As we embark together on a landmark strategic planning process that will
define our future, I want to acknowledge and honor the work of the
Strategic Planning Steering Committee. Over the summer, the committee
dedicated many hours toward developing the university wide strategic
planning process that will kick off on Monday, September 23, from 8:15 to 9
a.m. in Montezuma Hall of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

When we announced the kickoff event and the group sessions that will
follow, nearly 430 of you registered this week alone, committing to
participate during one of the many group sessions to be held between
Monday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 25. We encourage many more
of you to become involved at this early stage.

I personally thank you for taking the time to contribute to one of the most
important initiatives we have launched in the last year to reimagine the
future of SDSU.

Please submit your RSVP no later than September 13 to attend at least one
of the group sessions.

Students, faculty (including lecturers), staff, administrators, alumni, and
community members in San Diego and at SDSU Imperial Valley are invited to
participate. Your input and ideas are critical for the development of our
shared vision, mission and strategic goals, all of which will determine the
priorities for the main campus, SDSU Imperial Valley and the potential
development of SDSU Mission Valley.

We have also introduced a centralized site where you can learn about the
strategic planning effort, including our process, timeline and the team
members involved. As we will update the site frequently, visit the strategic

Your early contributions will help ensure that the voices and experiences
of SDSU’s students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are
clearly heard.
