Dear Colleagues:

The American Society for Engineering Education Pacific Southwest (ASEE PSW)
Section invites abstracts—for full papers, oral presentations, panel
presentations, poster presentations and workshops—for the *2020 ASEE PSW
Annual Conference and Exposition*. This conference focuses on educational
practice, innovation, and research in engineering education. All levels of
engineering education practitioners and researchers are welcome. The
conference will be hosted by the College of Engineering at the University
of California, Davis from *April 30 to May 2, 2020* with the theme of
*“Rejuvenating
Engineering Education through Equity and Inclusion”*.

Please consider submissions on topics relevant to engineering education
including, but not limited to:

   - Accessibility in engineering education
   - Broadening participation in engineering
   - Mental health of engineering students
   - Implicit bias and stereotype threat
   - Inclusive pedagogical and assessment methods
   - Innovative and exploratory educational practice in courses and
   curricula design
   - Integration of equity discussions into engineering curriculum
   - Intersectionality of non-normative identities in engineering
(first-generation, marginalized populations, LGBTQ+, students with
   disabilities)
   - High-impact, cost-efficient strategies for improving student success
   - Partnerships between industry and academia
   - Partnerships between community colleges and research institutions
   - Recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups in engineering
   - Social justice in engineering education
   - Student design projects
   - Other topics relevant to engineering education

*Submission Process*

Authors can submit five types of abstract: (1) full paper and presentation,
(2) only oral presentation, (3) panel presentation, (4) poster
presentation, or (5) workshop. *The deadline for abstract submission is
Nov. 15, 2019*.You can submit your abstract through the following link:
https://www.asee.org/public/conferences/177/papers

*Full Paper and Presentation: *Submission of a full paper is a three-step
process consisting of an abstract review, followed by a draft paper review
of accepted abstracts, and finally a completed paper review. Each abstract
will receive at least one blind review; papers will be blind-reviewed by a
minimum three reviewers. Acceptance of both the abstract and the final full
manuscript is required for presentation at the conference and for inclusion
in the conference proceedings (publish-to-present). Abstracts should be
250-500 words in length. Accepted full papers will be published in PSW
conference proceedings. Authors should indicate the type of presentation
through their abstract title: “*Full Paper*: [Your paper title].”

*Only Oral Presentation:* Authors can share their work through oral
presentations without publication of full papers via Only Oral Presentation
format. The abstracts for Only Oral Presentation should describe a
completed project and the length should be between 250 and 500 words. Oral
presentations will be approximately 12 to 15 minutes in length. Authors
should indicate the type of presentation through their abstract title: “
*Only* *Oral Presentation*: [Your presentation title].”

*Panel Presentation:* Panel presentations are encouraged to stimulate
dialogue among the engineering education community. Presentation abstracts
should be 250 to 500 words in length. Panel abstracts should identify:
name(s) of moderator(s), panelist names, and clear objectives for the
panel. Panel sessions will be 60 minutes. Authors should indicate the type
of presentation through their abstract title: “*Panel*: [Your panel title].”

*Poster:* Authors are encouraged to submit their work-in-progress as
posters. Poster abstracts should be 250 to 500 words in length. Posters
will be presented at 90-minute poster sessions. Authors should indicate the
type of presentation through their abstract title: “*Poster*: [Your poster
title].”

*Workshop:* Interactive workshops are encouraged to disseminate engineering
education skills and practices. Workshop abstracts should be 250 to 500
words in length. Workshops may be proposed for either 60 minutes or 90
minutes. Workshop proposals should indicate: names of facilitators, desired
length of workshop (60 or 90 minutes), learning objectives, and description
of activities to achieve desired objectives. Authors should indicate the
type of presentation through their abstract title: “*Workshop*: [Your
workshop title].”

*Submit your abstract using the following link:*
