[Faculty] 2/1 & 2/15 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

Hi Everyone,

For the 2/1/17 Executive Committee Minutes, Item 1.1, Development Update,
has been amended to:

"Kim DuFour also informed the Committee that the CoE has almost $100K of
scholarship funding that has not been awarded yet this year. Other Colleges
have also had the same issue and the President wants these funds to be
used. Kim Dufour and Theresa Garcia met with Colleen Conniff at the
Financial Aid & Scholarships Office to discuss the issue. It was found that
some of the scholarships had no eligible applicants even though the
Scholarship Office had advertised the scholarships publicly. The Department
Chairs need to help publicize the scholarships. The Chancellor’s Office has
mandated that Scholarship Committees have at least (3) members. It was
noted that CoE is in compliance with this mandate. It was also pointed out
that the University Scholarship Management System (USMS) is online and
available for all faculty and staff serving on scholarship committees."



As a side note to the minutes, the link to the scholarship search engine,
is www.sdsu.edu/scholarshipsearch.  Faculty and staff can review the site
and share the information with their students.
