[Faculty] Engineering and Physics Judges Needed for the IMSD and MARC Programs Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS)

Dear Engineering Faculty,

The SDSU IMSD and MARC Programs are hosting their 4th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) and we are in desperate need of judges for the Engineering and Physics sessions.


This year our programs are hosting URS on Friday, October 7th from 2pm-4pm (see attached flyer).

We have approximately 30 students presenting their research in preparation for SACNAS and/or ABRCMS Conferences, and we could use your help. We are hoping to recruit judges for the following presentation sections:

Chemistry: complete, Biology: complete, Psychology: need 1 more judge, Engineering: need 2-3 judges, and Physics: need 2-3 judges. We will also need a handful of facilitators for these groups.  Facilitators introduce the student presenters,  keep the sessions on time and guide the Q&A portion.

Students will be giving 10 minute oral presentations with 5 minutes for questions. 

 

Would you be able to judge for the session that best fits your area of study? 

 

If you could please let us know no later than September 26th by filling out this google form (http://goo.gl/dLOS2b) we would greatly appreciate it. Also, if you know of a post doc or a doctoral student who might be interested in judging or facilitating, please feel free to forward this email to them.

Judges will receive a judging packet with all materials they need and will be provided with a parking pass if needed.   Facilitators will also receive detailed instructions for their session.
