[Staff] The COE Outreach team needs our input

Dear CoE Faculty and Staff,

As shared during the Fall 2022 Retreat, the College of Engineering has gone
through some organizational changes that affected our K-12 initiatives.
While the SDSU College of Engineering already had several programs (like
the MESA Pre-College and Femineer Programs) dedicated solely to K-12
outreach in the local San Diego and Imperial Valley community, we believed
that there was a better way to unite all of the programs that facilitate
the College of Engineering’s mission for building a successful pipeline of
diverse students entering engineering. For this reason, the Outreach Team
was established to implement various on- and off-campus enrichment and
engagement experiences while amplifying the reach of the college to
prospective students and the community. Furthermore, this team was created
with the intent of supporting outreach efforts led by the college’s
faculty, staff, and student organizations.


With a focus on aiding strategic planning for our new Outreach Team, the
College of Engineering wants to know about all K-12 and transfer outreach
efforts happening within the college. In order to accomplish this in the
most efficient way possible, we are inviting faculty, staff, and student
organization leaders to complete the CoE Outreach Survey

The Outreach Team will use the information to guide their efforts to
strengthen ongoing outreach initiatives while they collaborate on new
high-impact experiences that align with the K-14 vision of the college.
This will allow them to be better equipped to collaborate with the College
of Engineering’s faculty, staff, and student organizations moving forward.

The survey will close Wednesday, February 22, 2023, and should take fewer
than ten minutes to complete. Please contact eng.outreach at sdsu.edu if you
have any questions or concerns.
