Dear Faculty and Staff,
Based on the SDSU President’s recent message, all non-essential personnel,
and essential personnel whose work can be accomplished remotely, should not
come to the San Diego State University campus. These employees should be
teleworking.
SDSU College of Engineering employees are asked to make arrangements no
later than Wednesday, March 18, before 6pm, to gather any essential work
materials and equipment from their offices to successfully telework from
home.
All faculty are asked to be flexible with their assignments to students
this week and to suspend all exams, because students are trying to vacate
the dorms.
Critical on-campus, in-person research that cannot be done virtually and
cannot be deferred can continue on campus as long as the recommendations
around social distancing are followed:
-
Limiting the number of people within a space to no more than 10
-
A minimum of 6 feet of distance between researchers
-
Staggering work schedules
-
Promoting remote activities
-
Time on campus should be limited exclusively to work that cannot be done
off campus
Faculty should prepare for the possibility of a pause of all research for
an undefined term, if mandated by government entities and public health
authorities.
I am seeking clarification regarding building access from the University
Administration and expect to send an update later.
Best regards,
Eugene
