Dear All,
As you are aware for the pass two year we were slowing moving the
Engineering Domain users to the ID domain. Majority of the faculty and
staff computers have already switched over to the ID Domain. There are a
few computers left that need to switch over to the ID domain. Please submit
a new ticket request at http://ost.sdsu.edu/ to have your computer switch
over to the ID domain. After December 31, 2018 users will not be able to
login to those computers that are on the Engineering domain.
DATE : December 31, 2018
USERS AFFECTED : Login into a Engineering Domain Computers will be
inaccessible to staff, students and faculty.
REASONS FOR : SDSU Decentralize IT Audit Report (Final Findings)
o All Academic Affairs IT units have either moved the college/department
to the ID Domain or have a due date.
· The ID domain is the central database for SDSUid, which is
an active directory and it is a closed system of users and systems in a
centrally controlled management structure.
· The ID domain allows for all servers/workstations to be
routinely scanned with anti-virus software (using Comodo or Windows
Defender) and allows for all servers/workstations to be routinely checked
to make sure that the operating system is up-to-date with their patches.
Thank You,
William Nguyen
