[Staff] REMINDER - Wed 6/8/16 Roof Inspection

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that there will be an Engineering building roof inspection
taking place from *8am-12pm, tomorrow, Wed 6/8/16*.   For those of you who
have labs on the 4th floor, it is very likely that they will be accessed by
the contractor completing the inspection, as well as, other labs on various
floors.

it is very likely that they will be accessed by the contractor completing

If there are any issues that we need to be aware of in accessing any lab,
please let me know.

*Dear Marcie,*

Our contractor, Kitchell, will be coming with electrical and mechanical
sub-contractors to investigate the abandoned/old equipment on the roof.
They will be tracking where cables, wires, exhaust vents terminate for the
equipment we are planning on removing. This means they may need to get into
any Engineering building spaces, including labs and private offices, likely
on multiple floors.



My primary concern is with labs, as some PI’s are very strict about access
to active research spaces. I think Dr. Garoma’s lab and E 422 and E 420 may
need to be accessed along with Dr. Mladenov’s E 405. *Please let the PI’s
on the 4th floor know as well Engineering building occupants *that this
will be taking place *Wednesday 6/8/16 from 8 to noon*. No power, water,
HVAC will be turned off. Please accept our apologies for any disruption.
Contractor has master keys and can get into spaces. We welcome both Greg
and Michael to part of this survey.



Al Kirsininkas, project manager with O’Connor will accompany the contractor
and subs that morning. I will leave you Al’s number (619.218.6867) should
you need to reach out. Also, I am enclosing here your number in case he
needs to get hold of you 619.578.6062 (office in the Engineering building,
room 203B).
