Hi Everyone,

I'm following up with a couple of additional items regarding the Power
Outage e-mail below:

1)  Please make sure that you defrost freezers in your personal
refrigerators.  As well, please remove any food that may spoil during the
outage.

2)  The elevators in all buildings affected by the power outage (including
Engineering), will be non-operational for the full 3-days.

****REMINDER*** Power Outage for Substation A is scheduled from December
31st – January 2nd. *



During this outage, all buildings supported by *Substation A* will receive
temporary power via a large temporary generator.



However, the connection of this temporary generator will cause two 6-hour
outages where power will be out to ALL campus buildings listed below.



We are in the process of arranging for temporary local generators to
maintain power to any mission critical research facilities and/or data
centers that cannot sustain these 6-hour outages. We believe we have
identified these areas, but please let me know if you believe your
equipment cannot survive being turned off for 6 hours at time.



Emergency generators will continue to provide power to life safety devices
(and any other equipment they already support) during this time.



The outage times for all buildings listed below, will be:

*Saturday, December 31st, from 6am to 12pm **(Please note this has been
moved forward 1 hour from the last outage email)*

*Monday, January 2nd, from 9am to 3pm*



Aside from the times listed above, power will be ON & available to all
buildings during this outage.
