Dear Arlene,

Would you mind sharing this email with faculty in Engineering? Thank you so much.

Please share the following information with your students:

Would you like to live and study, conduct research or teach English in another country for an academic year? The U.S. Student Fulbright Grant Program for 2015–16 will send about 1,500 students to one of 150 countries. Attend a Fulbright Information Session for more information. Information sessions will be July 22, August 7, August 12, August 20 from 3:00- 4:15 and July 31 from 2:00-3:15 in Storm Hall 123.

There will be four writing workshops this summer. Two writing workshops on July 24 and August 7 from 2-4pm in PSFA 116 to help you develop your statements. Students must register at www.writingcenter.sdsu.edu. There will also be one workshop for each type of grant run by Dr. Ann Johns, Professor Emerita in Rhetoric and Writing Studies and a winner of multiple Fulbright grants. The workshop for study/research proposals and personal statements will be held on September 3, 3-5pm in Al 110. The workshop for ETA proposal and personal statement will be held September 4, 3-5 pm in Al 110. Students should <https://docs.google.com/a/mail.sdsu.edu/forms/d/1IXNN8uqs69h6AUB8EVlerqJ1rWNwx_bSC6aMrNMs1VE/viewform> RSVP for an information session. Dr. Johns will work with applicants to fine-tune their personal statement and grant proposals. Students must bring completed drafts to work on in the information sessions. Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a writing workshop.

If you are considering a Fulbright grant it is important to start your Fulbright application <https://apply.embark.com/student/fulbright/usa/26/> now. You need not have everything completed to start your application. SDSU applications will be due September 23, 2014 for grants for 2015-16 and will be followed by campus interviews with SDSU faculty members. Following the interviews you will have the opportunity to polish your final draft using suggestions from the interviews. The final deadline for Fulbright is October 14, 2014 by 5:00 PM EST.
