[Staff] Explore SDSU Open House 2014

Your help is greatly needed and appreciated!!!

 It's that time of year again, EXPLORE SDSU OPEN HOUSE.   Will be held on -
Saturday, March 15th  from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Yikes, that's just around
the corner.  Your help is needed at 8:00 a.m. to help make sure everything
is ready to go at 9:00 a.m for the public.  The event ends at 2, and cleanup
will take place and hopefully end by 3pm.

 According to Larry's records, a number of you participated and assisted
last year and indicated it was well worth your time to interact with
prospective students, parents, alumni, and friends to show them all how
outstanding our College of Engineering is.

 Faculty and Staff help is needed again this year to fill the following
needs:

.         leading and guiding this year's participants to their various
venues, answering their questions, and providing direction to their next
location on campus. 

.         Setting up lab tours and/or demonstrations

.         Providing a department presentation for guests which include not
only incoming students and their families (for Explore - visit
http://explore.sdsu.edu/) but also students from middle and high school and
their families (for Science and Engineering Sampler - visit
http://sci.sdsu.edu/sampler/)

 If you would please let Donovan Geiger (dgeiger at mail.sdsu.edu) or (858)
444-0030 know of your intention to volunteer ASAP, it would be greatly
appreciated.

 In preparation for this year's Open House, there are a number of items that
need to be made, procured, and otherwise planned for, i.e. venue signs, name
tags, food acquisition, etc.  Donovan and I could use your help in pulling
all these types of items together.  For reference, I've included last year's
program. feel free to change things up or repeat what you did last year.

I know we can depend on you to volunteer your time to help.  THANK YOU ALL
in advance for agreeing to participate in any way you can in helping us to
showcase the College of Engineering; together we can make this happen!
