COE Faculty and Staff,
Dean Maloy, college of sciences shared this with us.
Please see the attached announcement for a presentation by an SDSU Alumnus
who has been very successful in the Biotechnology Industry, turning around
companies then moving on to another company. He has very interesting ideas
about the future of the Life Sciences industry (including areas that involve
engineering like biomedical devices, etc), and these insights will have
major impact on how we train our students and future employment in this
sector.
It should be very interesting to any students (both undergraduate and
graduate) interested in entering this sector, either from a STEM or from a
business perspective, faculty who are interested in developing biotech
companies or marketing their science in this sector, and faculty who teach
courses that include bioengineering.
Court, the presenter, has been asked to talk for about half hour and reserve
the rest of the time for questions/discussion, and I expect it will be an
engaging talk.
Please distribute anyone who might be interested.
Thanks.
