To Engineering Faculty and Staff:
I am writing to update you on the status of the Dean’s Office personnel.
*Associate Dean of Engineering*
As you know, Bruce Westermo is currently serving as Associate Dean
half-time. In early Spring, we will conduct a search for a full-time
Associate Dean. The search will be open to internal as well as external
candidates. In the interim, Bruce has agreed to continue filling this
position half-time.
*Director of Resource Management*
Darrell Irwin is retiring as the Director of Resource Management effective
December 31, 2013. Darrell will not be replaced so the position of
Director of Resource Management will be eliminated effective January 1,
2014.
*Budget Analyst/Specialist*
Jacqueline Lane will perform the budgetary and financial duties with the
support of an administrative staff to assist with clerical matters.
*Assistant Dean for Student Affairs*
With the retirement of Larry Hinkle at the end of December, I am working
with the Division of Student Affairs to choose an Interim Assistant Dean.
The classification for this position will be a Unit 3 SSP AR (Student
Services Professional Academic Related). If you are interested in being
considered for this Interim position, please email me your CV. We are
planning on making a selection by Friday, December 20th. The search for a
permanent Assistant Dean will begin in early Spring.
*Assistant to the Dean and Other Support Staff*
Marcie Morihiro will be the Assistant to the Dean effective January 1,
2014. Arlene Gibson and Donovan Geiger will continue supporting other
activities.
Thanks,
Monte
