[Staff] Congratulations to all

I wish to congratulate the faculty, staff and students for our inaugural
Spring 2012 Design Day Exposition. What an outstanding event! 60 groups of
undergraduate and graduate students, along with several student clubs,
demonstrated truly exceptional projects. Student showcased their
innovations, while alumni and sponsors returned to campus to be part of the
event. Both the venue and the food added to the experience.

 

Please join me in thanking the organizing committee, Darrell Irwin, Donovan
Geiger, John Kennedy, Dr. Kee Moon and Dr. Robert Dowell, for their efforts.
Well done. If you have any thoughts on how the exhibition can be improved
next year, please let me know.

 

Additionally, on Saturday, May 5, the system-wide CSU Student Research
Symposia was held in Long Beach. I'm delighted to report that a team from
our College of Engineering took first place. The first place winners were
Sam Kassegne's students (Tom McDowell, Pieter van Niekerk, Scott Frame, and
Nasim Vahidi) working on Flexible Micro Electrode Arrays for Neural Sensing.

 

It was a good two days for Engineering!
