Dear Diane,

I'm the Program Director for the SDSU/UCSD Cancer Center Comprehensive
Partnership and was advised to contact you in order to distribute our recent
RFA announcement to faculty in the College of Engineering. Can you please
let me know if you can distribute this information or if there is someone
else I may need to contact? 

A summary is below, and the full announcement is attached. Thanks so much
for your time and assistance.

 

The SDSU/UCSD Cancer Center Comprehensive Partnership invites you to submit
an application for a full or pilot research project grant.  Letters of
intent are due at noon on June 28, 2012.  Research projects may be in any
area of basic, clinical, translational, prevention, control, behavioral,
and/or population research.  Projects must advance the body of knowledge in
cancer research that is relevant to cancer disparities among communities of
color, ethnic and other minorities, or the medically underserved.  Annual
direct cost budget must not exceed $250,000 per year for up to three years
for full projects and $100,000 per year for up to three years for pilot
projects.  A total of 2-5 proposals meeting the specified criteria may be
selected for funding, contingent upon funding of the U54 parent grant.
Projects must include at least two Co-Leaders, with one Co-Leader from SDSU
and one Co-Leader from UCSD.  In addition, Co-Leaders from community-based
organizations (CBO) may be included if applicable.  For assistance in
identifying a Co-Leader from a particular institution or agency, contact Dr.
Sharon Danoff-Burg (sdanoff at projects.sdsu.edu).  Please refer to the
attached PDF for additional details.
