[Staff] Change in Chair

Dear Colleagues:

 

Dr. Ed Beighley has decided to resign his position of Interim Chair and
Professor in Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering effective at
the end of February and take on a new position in industry. During his
tenure at San Diego State University, Ed proved to be an effective teacher
and an outstanding scholar. Ed's resignation is certainly a loss for his
department and for the college as a whole. Please join me in wishing Ed the
best of luck with his new career.

 

Dr. Ken Walsh has graciously agreed to serve as interim chair. Ken will
begin his appointment on March 1. Over the next few months, I will work with
the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering to begin
the selection process for a permanent chair.
