I am writing this e-mail as a follow-up to Dr. Plotkin's e-mail sent
Monday regarding the passing of Stig Johansson. The unexpected loss of
Stig was a surprise to us all. I was informed about two weeks ago of his
condition and, based upon this report, I asked that a plant be
immediately sent to Stig on behalf of the Faculty and Staff of the
College of Engineering. It arrived about a week before his passing.

 

I have asked the College's Development Officer, Kori Kaufman, to look
into establishing a scholarship fund in Stig's memory. Once established,
I will share the pertinent information with you in the event you would
like to make a contribution. It seems like an appropriate way to
remember an individual who was completely dedicated to supporting our
engineering students. If you have any additional thoughts on how the
College or the Department of Aerospace Engineering should memorialize
Stig, please feel free to share your ideas with me or with Dr. Plotkin.
