[Staff] College Equiptment Funding

To all Faculty and Staff:

 

I am very please report that Academic Affairs has allocated its new
equipment budget (lottery funds) for the 2010-2011 academic year and the
College of Engineering has received a total of $ 1,586,501! this is the
largest allocation ever made to the College of Engineering, exceeding the
$1.38 million received in 2006-2007.  This is a significant investment by
the University in the College of Engineering and will allow for some
transformative changes, especially in the area of the student fabrication
facilities, significantly increasing our capacity for digital machining.

 

Over the next few days, departments will be provided a listing of equipment
that can be purchased using these funds.  The list is based upon the rank
order established by each department and chair.  Please work with Darrell
and Jacqueline as you begin submitting purchase requisitions.  The number of
requisitions that will be processed is clearly extensive.

 

Again, I am delighted by the University's investment in Engineering and
thank Academic Affairs for their support.
