[Staff] Dr. Ed Beighley's Appointment

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ed Beighley as Interim Chair
of the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering
effective August 23, 2010.  Dr. Beighley came highly recommended by faculty
in his department.  I am certain that he will do an outstanding job in this
new position.  Please join me in congratulating Ed.

 

We should also recognize the outstanding work of Dr. Janusz Supernak during
the many years that he served as chair of what was originally the Department
of Civil Engineering.  Janusz will continue to serve as chair through the
summer and then returned to his role as professor and the department's
authority on transportation engineering.  On behalf of the College of
Engineering, I thank Dr. Supernak for his outstanding efforts as chair and
his leadership.
