OBJECTIVES:  The CISAC Science Fellowship Program offers<br>
scientists and engineers an opportunity to conduct research into the<br>
scientific and technical aspects of a security topic of their own<br>
choosing, or to conduct research in collaboration with one of the<br>
Center’s ongoing research efforts. Examples of past research areas<br>
include: nuclear weapons and non-proliferation policy; nuclear
energy;<br>
critical infrastructure; biosecurity; information technology and<br>
security; missile defense systems and space weaponization; energy,<br>
food, and water security; and security issues related to climate<br>
change. <br><br>
ELIGIBILITY<br>
 The center invites scientists and engineers who have
demonstrated<br>
excellence in their specialties to apply. Fellowships are available<br>
for postdoctoral fellows and mid-career professionals. The sponsor
is<br>
particularly interested in individuals who are considering careers
in<br>
science and public policy. Scientists in academic and research<br>
institutions, government, and industry, from the United States and<br>
abroad may apply. <br><br>
FUNDING<br>
 Stipends are awarded for an eleven-month period beginning
around<br>
end of September 2011, and are determined on a case-by-case basis,<br>
commensurate with experience. Health insurance is also available.<br>
Two-year fellowships are available under some circumstances.<br>
