OBJECTIVES: Fellowships are awarded to undergraduate
students<br>
who have completed their junior or senior year at colleges or<br>
universities studying in any of the fields of science or engineering<br>
with at least a tentative interest in the ocean sciences,<br>
oceanographic engineering, mathematics, or marine policy.
Fellowships<br>
are awarded to pursue an independent research project under the<br>
guidance of a member of the Scientific or Senior Technical Staff.
The<br>
sponsor's aim is to give a promising group of science and
engineering<br>
students experience, which will assist them in determining whether<br>
they wish to devote careers to the study of the oceans. <br><br>
ELIGIBILITY<br>
Applications are welcome from undergraduate students who have<br>
completed their junior or senior year at colleges or universities<br>
studying in any of the fields of science or engineering, which<br>
includes but is not limited to the fields of: biology, chemistry,<br>
engineering, geology, geophysics, mathematics, meteorology, physics,<br>
oceanography, and marine policy. <br><br>
