interdisciplinary
fields: American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art and theater
history, astronomy, chemistry, communications, computer science,

geography, history, international relations, language, life
sciences,
linguistics, literature, mathematics, performance study, philosophy,
physics, political science, psychology, religion, sociology, urban
Fellowships will be offered only to individuals who are citizens

become a U.S. citizen by November 8, 2010) and who are members of
the
following groups: Native American Indians, Alaskan Natives (Eskimo
or
Aleut), Black/African Americans, Mexican

Native Pacific Islanders (Micronesian or Polynesian), and Puerto
Ricans. Applicants are required to have earned a PhD or ScD
degree
from a U.S. educational institution no earlier than November 30,
2003
program. Applicants must be committed to a career in teaching
and
research at the college or university level. Fellowship
applicants
are encouraged to choose a fellowship institution other than the
institution with which they are affiliated at the time of

designate a U. S. institution to act as a liaison.
