SYNOPSIS:  The program is for graduate study leading to masters<br>
or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics, and<br>
engineering related to NASA research and development. In 2010, NASA

expanding GSRP to include students that are interested in becoming<br>
teachers or education administrators. This twelve month award
requires<br>
students to participate in a 10 week NASA Center or HQ-based
research<br>
experience at the NASA Center/HQ extending the GSRP Fellowship<br>
award. <br><br>

OBJECTIVES:   The goal of the program is to cultivate
additional<br>
research ties to the academic community, to help meet the continuing<br>
needs of the Nation’s aeronautics and space workforce requirements
by<br>
increasing the number of highly trained scientists and engineers in<br>
aeronautics and space-related disciplines, and to meet the Nation’s<br>
need to increase the number of highly trained teachers. <br><br>
ELIGIBILITY<br>
&lt;p&gt;Applicants must be U.S. citizens (permanent residents
are not<br>
eligible). Students may apply at any time during their graduate<br>
program, or prior to receiving their baccalaureate degree, provided<br>
they have been accepted to an accredited graduate program at a U.S.<br>
college or university. All applicants must have a University Faculty<br>
Research Advisor (who will be the Principal Investigator of the GSRP<br>
Training Grant) from the institution where they plan to receive
their<br>
graduate degree. Graduating seniors accepted by a graduate school
must<br>
contact their graduate school department and request an advisor to<br>
support the NASA research funded under the
GSRP.&lt;/p&gt;<br><br>
FUNDING<br>
&lt;p&gt;Fellowships are awarded for one year as training grants
in<br>
