is
expanding GSRP to include students that are interested in becoming
teachers or education administrators. This twelve month award
requires
students to participate in a 10 week NASA Center or HQ-based
research
experience at the NASA Center/HQ extending the GSRP Fellowship
award.

OBJECTIVES: The goal of the program is to cultivate
additional
research ties to the academic community, to help meet the continuing
needs of the Nation’s aeronautics and space workforce requirements
by
increasing the number of highly trained scientists and engineers in
aeronautics and space-related disciplines, and to meet the Nation’s
need to increase the number of highly trained teachers.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be U.S. citizens (permanent residents
are not
eligible). Students may apply at any time during their graduate
program, or prior to receiving their baccalaureate degree, provided
they have been accepted to an accredited graduate program at a U.S.
college or university. All applicants must have a University Faculty
Research Advisor (who will be the Principal Investigator of the GSRP
Training Grant) from the institution where they plan to receive
their
graduate degree. Graduating seniors accepted by a graduate school
must
contact their graduate school department and request an advisor to
support the NASA research funded under the
GSRP.

FUNDING
