OBJECTIVES: <br>
The chosen undergraduates taking part in the ten-week CCMR REU<br>
program will receive hands-on experience through research with<br>
applications materials science and engineering. The research
projects<br>
are designed and supervised by the faculty and technical staff at
the<br>
CCMR research facilities. Students work with faculty and graduate<br>
students on projects using the unique resources offered at Cornell.<br>
Students must also complete a written report summarizing the
findings<br>
of their research project, as well as an oral presentation. These<br>
reports are published on the CCMR REU website. <br><br>
ELIGIBILITY<br>
Applicants must be a US citizen or permanent resident
currently<br>
enrolled in an undergraduate program. Selection will be based
on<br>
academic standing and faculty recommendations. Minority and
female<br>
candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. All chemistry,
physics<br>
and engineering majors are welcome to apply. <br><br>
FUNDING<br>
Students will receive a $4,000 stipend, housing and a $500<br>
reimbursement for travel expenses. Students are responsible
for<br>
