OBJECTIVES: Support is provided for students with a declared
major in the following fields: Civil, Chemical, or Environmental
Engineering, or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology,
hydrogeology, biology, ecology or industrial hygiene toxicology.)
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident, and
must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or
equivalent on a 5.0 scale). Candidates must be full-time students
enrolled in their junior year at an accredited four-year undergraduate
college and be a member of a minority group (e.g. African American,
Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander, Native American, or Alaskan
Native). Applicants must be available to particpate in a summer
internship at a Brown and Caldwell office. Applicants must submit a
250-word essay on "My future career goals in environmental
science."
FUNDING
The sponsor will provide the selected student with: $3,000 in
tuition scholarship for the following school year; a paid summer
internship at a sponsor office; and a dedicated mentor to guide the
intern through the sponsor's information and communications resources.
