OBJECTIVES:
  The program's purpose is to provide opportunities to attract highly
motivated undergraduate and graduate students to aeronautics and
related fields. The program scholarships and internships will focus on
multiple fields of study. These fields include: Aeronautical and
Aerospace; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer
Engineering; Electrical and Electronic; Energy; Engineering Mechanics;
Engineering Science; Industrial Engineering; Materials Engineering;
Mechanical Engineering; Metallurgical; Nuclear Engineering; Petroleum;
Polymer; Systems Engineering; Algebra or Number Theory; Analysis;
Geometry; Logic or Foundations of Mathematics; Operations Research;
Probability and Statistics; Artificial Intelligence (including
Robotics, Computer Vision, and Human Language Processing); Computer
Science - Languages and Systems; Computer Science - Theoretical
Foundations; Computer Systems Design (including Signal Processing);
Databases, Information Retrieval, and Web Search; Graphics and
Visualization; Human Computer Interaction; Information Technology and
Organizations; Networks and Communications; Scientific Computing and
Informatics; Software Engineering; Computer Architecture and Grids;
Information Security and Assurance; Astrophysics; Atomic and
Molecular; Condensed Matter Physics; Nuclear; Optics; Particle
Physics; Physics of Fluids; Plasma; and Solid State.

ELIGIBILITY
  Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Undergraduate applicants must
have at least two years of full-time study remaining at an accredited
U.S. college or university. Graduate applicants may be in their final
year of undergraduate study and accepted into a master's or doctoral
program, or be currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral
program.

FUNDING
  The program anticipates supporting 20 undergraduate awards annually
up to $15,000 a year each for two years with a $10,000 summer
internship at a NASA research center between the junior and senior
year. Five graduate scholarships of up to $35,000 a year and up to
$10,000 for two internships at a NASA research center. (cas)
