OBJECTIVES: The sponsor offers scholarships to selected students
pursuing a four-year college degree in engineering or geosciences at
certain colleges.
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible applicants must: be a US citizen or a permanent resident
of the United States; have a minimum 3.2 GPA, which must be maintained
throughout your participation in the program; major in one of the
following disciplines: geology, geophysics or physics; chemical,
civil, electrical, mechanical, petroleum, geological or geophysical
engineering; and be enrolled full-time and a sophomore, junior, or
senior in one of the following colleges: Colorado School of Mines;
Cornell University; Florida A&M University; Georgia Institute of
Technology; Louisiana State University; Massachusetts Institute of
Technology; Michigan State University; North Carolina A&T University;
Ohio State University; Pennsylvania State University; Prairie View A&M
University; Purdue University; Rice University; Texas A&M University;
University of Colorado at Boulder; University of Houston; University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; University of Michigan; University of
Oklahoma; University of Texas at Austin; and University of Texas at El
Paso.
FUNDING
The sponsor provides $5,000 scholarships, which can be used to pay
for tuition and/or normal living expenses. If the necessary criteria
are met, scholarships are renewable for up to four years or until
completion of an undergraduate degree. (cam)
