This year's SDSU Aztec Baja sponsorship proposal was sent to me today, and I figure this is the perfect opportunity to pass it along to anyone interested (see attached).

I am an SDSU Baja Alumni (2010), and still communicate with the team from time to time. Every year, this Engineering club builds a 10hp off road buggy and competes against 100+ engineering schools from around the world. The competitions occur three times a year in various parts of the country. The competition is called SAE Baja, and is part of the SAE Collegiate design series. http://students.sae.org/cds/bajasae/

The club is very much on the rise right now!!! SDSU has campaigned a car for each of the last 7 years, and even two cars some years. Every year the team has improved their results, and for the last two years they have been bringing home trophies. In fact last year in Illinois, they finished 1st in the endurance race, and 8th overall for the weekend (against 100 other schools!). Here is a link of the "Live feed" of last years event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4g3yhQp498 Its a long video, but the finish happens at 4:38:10, the announcer pays the SDSU baja team high praises after their win. The team has 8 returning seniors this year, and 1st OVERALL it is a real possibility for them this year.

They have some pretty lofty fund raising goals, but they have 40+ members, and it is expensive to travel to all three competitions. If you are in a position to give back to the school, this is a pretty good way, Directly to the students, where it will make a difference. There is some very real engineering going on in this club, producing high level graduates.

The team email is SDSUbaja at gmail.com if you would like to reach out.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Sincerely,

Max Krommenhoek

Okay,

I have just been deleting all of these messages, but they are not ending, so I must ask. I graduated in 1989 with a BSME, been in power generation this whole time building all sorts of major facilities Combined Cycle, Geothermal, some Hydro-generation maintenance. I have been pretty successful, but need a change and want to stay in San Diego. I want to move into the energy management, building specific mechanical equipment industry, or renewable energy in San Diego. Any suggestions? No need to cc all!

Thanks,

Sandra Law (PS I was Lehmann)

Now that SDSU has goofed and we have this distro list, we could amuse ourselves for quite some time mocking SDSU.

Was pretty recently, for example, that SDSU pulled down the statue of Monty and changed the logos. Ok, everyone knows that the Aztecs were a brutal bunch to a degree that makes the Nazis look like pikers, but we overlooked that because, I dunno, because we could. But then we got to wringing our hands re. us being mean to our romantic vision of the noble savage. This kind of comedy practically writes itself.

Ok, there's gotta be folks here that are imaginative and hilarious. Lets see what you've got.
