Was pretty recently, for example, that SDSU pulled down the statue of Monty and changed the logos. Ok, everyone knows that the Aztecs were a brutal bunch to a degree that makes the Nazis look like pikers, but we overlooked that because, I dunno, because we could. But then we got to wringing our hands re. us being mean to our romantic vision of the noble savage. This kind of comedy practically writes itself.
