All members of the university community are invited to submit nominations for the annual Senate Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2021-22 academic year. The submission deadline is Thursday, March 17, and additional details are below.<br>
<br>
One distinguished SDSU faculty member will be honored and receive the title Senate Distinguished Professor. <b>Qualified nominees may be tenured, tenure-track (probationary) or FERP.</b><br>
<br>
The Senate Distinguished Professor is recognized for contributions made to students, the faculty member’s respective academic discipline and the campus communities. <b>The primary criterion of this award is teaching excellence.</b> Requirements are as follows: </span></span></div><ul>
<li style="line-height:150%">
<span style="font-size:15px"><span style="font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif">Each nominee choosing to move forward <b>must submit his/her/their materials to their college dean by Thursday, March 17.</b></span></span><br>

<span style="font-size:15px"><span style="font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif">Each college will forward one nominee to the Senate by emailing <a href="mailto:senate@sdsu.ed?subject=" style="color:#a6192e;text-decoration:underline" title="senate@sdsu.edu" target="_blank">senate@sdsu.edu</a>, and the Chair of the Faculty Honors and Awards Committee by emailing <a href="mailto:risa.levitt@sdsu.edu?subject=" style="color:#a6192e;text-decoration:underline" title="risa.levitt@sdsu.edu" target="_blank">risa.levitt@sdsu.edu</a> by <b>Wednesday, March 30.</b></span></span><br>

<span style="font-size:15px"><span style="font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif">All college nominees will be honored at an awards ceremony, but only one individual will receive the title Senate Distinguished Professor and present a public lecture as part of the ceremony. This individual will also receive a cash award.<br>
