Dear Ms. Smitherman,


My name is Abby McGuire. I am a research assistant in the Speech and
Language Hearing Sciences department working on projects related to
well-hearing. My supervisor, Dr. Jill Preminger, and co-researchers are
conducting research with adults (45 - 85 years) who have hearing loss but
who have not done anything about this. As part of recruiting people into
our study, we are offering free hearing screenings to faculty and staff. We
completed hearing screenings with CHHS, College of Arts and Letters,
College of Education, and College of Professional Studies and Fine Art last
semester. Following, we invite those who did not pass
the hearing screening to participate in our research study. We had an
excellent turn out and are hoping to reach more faculty and staff members.


I wanted to reach out to see if you would be interested in
offering hearing screenings to faculty and staff in the College of
Engineering. I’ve attached our flyer with more information and can pass
along our email template if you are interested. We are planning on
opening up 6-8 time slots during the month of February. Please let me know
if you are interested, or if there is anyone better to contact regarding
this opportunity.
