Dear Colleagues,

The Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation
Search Committee is initiating an internal call for applications for the
next Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs – Curriculum,
Assessment, and Accreditation (AVP-CAA).

A description of the position and the requisite qualifications are detailed
below.

Individuals interested in this position should forward (a) a curriculum
vitae and (b) a letter describing how their experiences meet the
qualifications and responsibilities of the position. Send both to Grace

*ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT FOR Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation*

San Diego State University seeks an experienced and accomplished leader to
serve as Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Assessment, and
Accreditation (AVP-CAA). SDSU will conduct a thorough and expeditious
search and selection process. The position will remain open until filled;
however, to ensure full consideration, applications must be received by
Dec. 8, 2022.

The Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation
reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic
Affairs and is a key member of the University’s leadership team. This
position is integral to the University’s commitment to the overall success
of curriculum management. In addition, this position will be expected to
cultivate a culture of ongoing innovation and improvement in student
learning and development, and teaching, which includes serving as the WSCUC
Accreditation Liaison Officer.

To pursue this mission, the AVP- CAA will:

   - Oversee university wide curriculum processes
   - Working with other offices in Academic Affairs, help create and
   implement policy changes as needed due to CSU Executive Orders and
   directives (e.g., EO 1071, GWAR, AB 928, etc.)
   - Prepare annual Academic Master Plan for Chancellor’s Office, Board of
   Trustees, and WSCUC
   - Coordinate curriculum approval through Chancellor’s Office and WSCUC
   - Serve as the University WSCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer
   - Coordinate Department, General Education, and Institutional Assessment
   of undergraduate and graduate programs
   - Supervise the University’s Assessment and Accreditation Analyst,
   Director of Curriculum Services, Curriculum Analyst(s), Administrative
   Analyst and Administrative Coordinator
   - Maintain WSCUC subchange process
   - Chair the Student Learning Outcomes and Program Assessment Committee
   (SLOPAC)
   - Manage Qualcomm Partnership Information Communication Technology funds
   - Coordinate all undergraduate and Master level Academic Reviews
   - Lead and oversee WSCUC reaffirmation process
