[Faculty] Leadership of the ECE Department

To Faculty and Staff:



I would like to inform you that, due to personal reasons, Dr. Chris
Mi resigned from the Position of Chair of the Electrical and Computer
Engineering Department and returned to the ECE faculty effective August 18,
2022.



Please join me in thanking Dr. Mi for his valuable service
as the ECE Department Chair. Dr. Mi served as the ECE Department Chair
during the last seven years. He maintained and built a department that is
strong in scholarship and teaching capacity.



I would like to wish Dr. Mi the successful continuation of his academic
career as a prolific researcher and educator in his position of SDSU
Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.



Dr. Satish Sharma has been appointed as Interim Chair of the Electrical and
Computer Engineering Department effective August 18, 2022.



Dr. Sharma joined SDSU in 2006 as an Assistant Professor and became tenured
Associate Professor in 2010. Dr. Sharma has been serving as a Professor and
Director of Antenna and Microwave Lab at SDSU since August 2014. He
received the 2017 SDSU Outstanding Faculty Monty Award. He has advised and
mentored more than 90 scholars in his research group. Dr. Sharma published
over 290 journal and conference papers and holds US and Canadian Patents.



Please join me in welcoming Dr. Sharma to his new position and wish him
every success in his new role in the ECE Department and the SDSU College of
Engineering.
