Colleagues,

With the introduction of the Graduate Student Health Insurance Program (
GSHIP), we heard from many of you hoping faculty would be able to pay their
grad students' insurance premiums directly with SDSURF funds.

A simple process is now available for doing just that. At sdsu.edu/gship you
will now find a section "For Faculty", with instructions and a link to a
web form that, when completed, will enroll the specified student in a
GSHIP plan
and encumber specified RF funds to directly pay the insurance premiums.
Sponsored students should be instructed to take no action. Insurance
coverage begins August 15.

Please communicate about this option to the participating faculty in your
graduate program.
