The University Grants Program (UGP) for 2021 is open and accepting
applications. *The deadline to submit applications for 2021 is Nov. 2.*

The program supports scholarly research and creative activities, permits
faculty to bring advanced projects to completion and helps faculty members
develop a research program competitive for extramural funding.

UGP combines funds from the CSU Chancellor’s Office, the SDSU Provost’s
Office, the SDSU Research Foundation and the Adams Humanities Endowment
Fund. The Division of Research and Innovation administers the program and
awardees may be eligible for up to $10,000. The University Research Council
and the University Grants and Lectureship Committee (UGLC) reviews
applications.

Eligible faculty may submit one application per review cycle. Funds awarded
are available for 18 months beginning in January. Please note that while
applications are rated based on merit, final funding decisions may
encompass other factors including the number of awards received by the
applicant in recent years. Applicants who have had three awards within the
last five years are ineligible for an award in 2021.
