Dear Faculty,
Instructional Technology Services (ITS) is playing an important role in
SDSU’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I would like to share with
you the valuable support and professional development materials and
events that are available to you as you teach courses this Fall.
- The ITS training page is a centralized hub that describes a number of
trainings and workshops for faculty, including the SDSU Flexible Course
Design Toolkit, the Canvas Support Homeroom, and other Faculty Training and
Workshops being offered this semester: https://its.sdsu.edu/training/
- The SDSU Flexible Course Design Toolkit, a course in Canvas located
here, https://sdsu.instructure.com/courses/58304, is a self-paced,
unmoderated, and asynchronous version of the Flexible Course Design Summer
Institute attended by approximately 1,000 SDSU instructors during Summer
2020
- Finally, ITS is hosting a series of 30-minute *Quick Talks this Fall
that feature conversations between Summer Institute participants and
mentors*,* focusing on how SDSU instructors are applying lessons learned
in the Summer Institute to their pedagogical approaches during the Fall
2020 semester*. The link to the ITS Quick Talks page is
https://its.sdsu.edu/covid-19/flex/quick-talks/ it is also important to
note that the weekly cadence for these is a Quick Talk on Wednesdays at
10am, followed by a 'how-to' workshop on Fridays at 11am
The ITS team can be reached by submitting a ServiceNow Incident Ticket at
servicenow.sdsu.edu, or by dropping into ITS Virtual Faculty Instructional
Technology (FIT) Center, an on-demand virtual support help desk, via Zoom
at sdsu.zoom.us/my/sdsuits, Monday-Thursday: 8am – 6:30pm and Friday: 8am –
4:30pm.
Best regards
Yusuf
