Dear Colleagues,

I am following up on the University Administration emails in regards to
these issues:

*Transitioning from in-person meetings and classes to distributed or fully
virtual modalities*

I am sure that there are many technical questions regarding this
transition, the SDSU’s Instructional Technology Services (ITS) is
offering Virtual
Instruction Program (VIP) Workshops
<http://itstopworkshop.eventbrite.com/> which
would provide faculty an opportunity to ask these technical questions.

In addition, SDSU ITS can be contacted with questions or concerns at
https://its.sdsu.edu/support/.

As announced earlier, additional information regarding training and course
material assistance to faculty adopting virtual methods for their classes
can be found on the SDSU Coronavirus (COVID-19) Academic Continuity
Preparation web page <https://comm.sdsu.edu/R00p1Z7Mrw0000K0B6PEIz0>.

In addition, for questions regarding hardware available from the College of
Engineering, please contact the College IT Lead William Nguyen at
wnguyen at sdsu.edu.

The decisions regarding the offering of lab classes or courses with
essential lab components will be made soon.

*University travel*
Presently all international travel and non-essential domestic travel is
suspended through May 31, 2020. This travel cancellation policy is
effective immediately and also applies to all previously approved
T2s. Please email me if a consideration of an exception is needed.

*Campus Events, Gatherings, and Faculty Position Candidate Interviews*
Currently SDSU is making event and meeting-related decisions on a
case-by-case basis. Faculty and staff event organizers should consult with
me on decisions regarding campus events. The Dean's Office has received
comprehensive lists regarding Engineering events, gatherings, and faculty
position candidate interviews from all College Departments, Programs, and
Student Organizations. I am currently reviewing these lists.

Additional guidance on campus events, gatherings, and faculty position
candidate interviews is expected in the near future from the University
Administration.

Best regards,
Eugene
